Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on November 23, 2009.

The arms, but without the cross, are already known since the 14th century. The meaning is not clear, but probably simply indicates the fact that the city was situated near a lake and fishing was an important activity at the time. The cross was added only in the 17th century.

Seal of Teupitz

Seal from around 1900
Wappen von Teupitz/Coat of arms (crest) of Teupitz

The arms in the Wappen-Sammlung (+/- 1910)
Wappen von Teupitz/Coat of arms (crest) of Teupitz
