Country: Germany State: Niedersachsen District (Kreis): Region Hannover (until 2001 Hannover (until 1974 Burgdorf)) Incorporated into:
|
German | Auf silbernem Schild ein blauer Wellenbalken und darüber ein rot-bewehrter, schwarzer Adler. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on November 17, 1955.
The name Arpke may have been derived from Aar-beeke, or eagle-brook. Hence the use of an eagle and a wavy bar in the arms, as no historical seals of the village were known.
Literature: Peters, 1974
