ARMSTEDT

State:Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis):Segeberg
Amt:Amt Bad Bramstedt-Land

Wappen von Armstedt/Arms (crest) of Armstedt
Official blazon
German In Rot mit silbern geflammtem Schildhaupt ein erhöhter silberner Sparren, dessen Schenkel ei- nen auf einem goldenen Ast sitzenden goldenen Wiedehopf einschließen.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 10, 1986.

The chevron is a canting element, symbolising a bend arm, even though the name has nothing to do with a human arm. The hoopoe was a common bird in the region until the marshes were drained for agricultural land.

The flames are a symbol for the many threats to which the villagers were exposed during the centuries (fire, floods...).
