State :Rheinland-Pfalz
District (Kreis) :Südwestpfalz
Verbandsgemeinde :Zweibrücken-Land

Wappen von Riedelberg/Arms (crest) of Riedelberg
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 20, 1982.

The upper half shows a water mill wheel, symbolizing the former watermills in the area. The fleur-de-lis is a symbol for St. Mary, the local patron saint. The lower half shows a chevron, taken from the arms of the Counts of Hanau-Lichtenberg, to whom the area belonged in early medieval times. The tile with the letter R refers to the many Roman tiles and other items found in the area.
