In September 1937 the above arms were adopted. The two hooks remained, but now a prehistoric spear was added. The spear was found in the early 20th century. The golden shield symbolised the fertile fields in the district. The arms were used until 1945.<br/>

From 1945-1952 the pre 1937 arms were used again, but all use was abolished in 1952. In 1991 the district again adopted the pre-1937 arms, but these were never officially granted. The arms remained in use until 1993.

Origin/meaning

The two boat hooks are the symbol of St. Adalbert, patron saint of the cathedral of Lebus, and also used by the Diocese of Lebus. The Landkreis Seelow was the successor of the Lebus district.

The golden colour in the old arms refers to the rich fields and the hooks also refer to the importance of fisheries in the Oder river.

After the German unification the district was restructured and hence new arms were adopted with the same compositin, but in different colours.
