German heraldry:

Selected collector's items from Germany:

LAUF

State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis) : Ortenaukreis (until 1972 Bühl)

Lauf2.jpg

Official blazon

In Silber ein roter Kelch, aus dem nach beiden Seiten je eine blaue Traube mit grünem Blatt herauswächst.

Origin/meaning

The oldest seal of Lauf dates from the early 19th century and shows in the upper part the arms of Baden, and in the lower a grapevine rising from a beaker. The next seal, dating from around 1870 shows only a (Prussian) eagle. In 1880 the municipality used a seal with the present arms. The arms were officially adopted and the colours were defined in July 1900.
