ERBACH (ERB)
State : Hessen
Additions : 1874 Lindenfels, Neustadt
Incorporated into : 1972 Odenwaldkreis
Official blazon
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on November 20, 1956.
The oak tree symbolises the rich forests in the Odenwald region (Wald=forest). The stars are derived from the arms of the Counts of Erbach, who ruled most of the area until 1806.
