Official blazon

In Gold auf grünem Boden eine grüne Linde, beseitet von zwei schwebenden und bezinnten roten Türmen mit schwarzen Rundbogenfenstern und silbern-beknauften Spitzdächern, darauf rechts ein zweistreifiges silbern-grünes und links ein rot-silbernes Fähnchen (Stander).

Origin/meaning

The composition is already seen on the oldest seal of the city, dating from the 14th century. Later seals show some variations in the tree, whereas the whole composition as above is placed in a shield in the seal of 1561.
