FRIEDBERG

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Aichach-Friedberg (until 1973 Friedberg-Bayern)
Additions : 1970 Wiffertshausen; 1974 Harthausen (partly), Paar; 1978 Derching, Ottmaring, Rederzhausen, Wulfertshausen

Wappen von Friedberg (Bayern)

Official blazon

In Blau auf grünem Sechsberg ein rotes Kreuz zwischen zwei aus dem mittleren Berg aufwachsenden silbernen Lilienstängel.

Origin/meaning

Friedberg became a city in 1264 and the first seal dates from the same time. The seal, as did the second seal, already showed the same picture as the present arms. Its meaning is not clear, but, besides cosmetic changes, haven't changed since.
