In 1956 the arms above were proposed. The chevrons are now the arms for the Lords of Eppstein. The escutcheon shows the town's initial. The oldest seal of the village showed a quartered shield with the wheel of the [[Mainz (State)|State of Mainz]], the chevrons of Eppstein, the cross of [[Fulda]] and the letter K.
