WÖSCHBACH
Province/State : Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis ) : Karlsruhe
Incorporated into : 1974 Pfinztal
Official blazon
In Blau ein geschliffenes silbernes Kreuz, belegt mit einem roten Herzschild, darin das goldene Ortszeichen (ein doppelter Kreis, aus dessen Mittelpunkt nach oben hinausragend ein Pfeil).
Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted in 1901 and again in 1955.
The arms show the cross of the State of Speyer, to which the village historically belonged. In the early 19th century the area became part of Baden. The escutcheon shows the historical village symbol in the colours of Baden.
The oldest known seal of the village dates from 1749 and shows the initials WB under a crown. In the 19th century the seals showed either the village symbol, of the arms of Baden with the village symbol on the left. The meaning of the symbol is not known.

The arms were proposed and adopted in 1901, but, as in time the village symbol looked more like a flower, the arms were officially described again in 1955.
