HEERE
State : Niedersachsen
District (Kreis) : Wolfenbüttel
Samtgemeinde : Samtgemeinde Baddeckenstedt
Official blazon
Von Rot und Gold gespalten mit einem Turnierhut in gewechselten Farben.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 30, 1988.
The hat was used as arms by the medieval Lords of Heere, known since 1293. The division of the shield symbolises the two villages, Klein- and Grossheere, which now form one municipality. This is again symbolised, the two villages now live 'under one hat'.
The division also refers to the fact that the village historically has been on the border between the Duchy of Braunschweig and the State of Hildesheim. The colours are those from the Lords of Heere as well as (partly) from Braunschweig and Hildesheim.
