ERFTSTADT
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Rhein-Erft Kreis
Additions : 1969 Bliesheim, Borr, Dirmerzheim, Dorweiler, Erp, Friesheim, Gymnich, Kierdorf, Lechenich, Liblar, Niederberg, Pingsheim, Wissersheim
Official blazon
In grün eine silberne rechte Flankenleiste und zwei am linken Schildrand anliegende goldene Quadrate.
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on March 15, 1974.
These rather unheraldic arms show the Erft river and as a whole the initial of the city. The green colour also symbolises that there is a lot of green in the several towns and villages which form Erftstadt. The yellow squares represent (also) the lots of fields of wheat that is grown all around the municipality.
