Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on May 24, 1954.
The eagle is derived from the arms of the old Imperial city of Ulm. The breast-shield shows the combined arms of Württemberg and Burgau. A large part of the district historically belonged to Württemberg (deer antlers) and another to the (Austrian) county of Burgau.
