GEINSHEIM AM RHEIN
State : Hessen
District (Kreis) : Gross-Gerau
Incorporated into 1977 Trebur
Official blazon
(de)
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1926 and are based on images on 16th and 17th century border stones. These showed a goose and the letter G, the town's initial.
The goose may be a canting element (from Gans, pronounced in the local dialect). The colours are derived from the arms of the Lords of Isenburg, to which the area historically belonged.
The seal from 1642. |
