Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on June 15, 1953.
Neidlingen was a free territory from 1564-1596, when it became part of Württemberg. The oldest seal is known since 1604, but is likely somewhat older. Two later seals, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries all show the same arms, a shield with in the upper part a vine with some grapes, and in the lower the town's initial. The present arms were based on the old seals, but the vine was replaced by an oak branch, as the oldest seal most likely showed an oak and not yet a vine.
