The arms were granted by Emperor Charles V on March 24, 1541 and show the lion of [[Bamberg]] and a canting part (Wallenfels or forrest-rock). The village was a possession of the State of Bamberg. | |||
The arms have basically never changed since. In the 17<sup>th</sup> century the Bamberg arms were sometimes depicted mirrored, causing some confusion in the last century over which were the original arms. | |||

Origin/meaning
The arms were granted by Emperor Charles V on March 24, 1541 and show the lion of Bamberg and a canting part (Wallenfels or forrest-rock). The village was a possession of the State of Bamberg.
The arms have basically never changed since. In the 17th century the Bamberg arms were sometimes depicted mirrored, causing some confusion in the last century over which were the original arms.
