The arms were granted by Emperor Charles V on March 24, 1541 and show the lion of [[Bamberg]] and a canting part (Wallenfels or forrest-rock). The village was a possession of the State of Bamberg.
Additions : 1974 [[Geuser]], [[Neuengrün]], [[Schnaid]], [[Wolfersgrün]]

The arms have basically never changed since. In the 17<sup>th</sup> century the Bamberg arms were sometimes depicted mirrored, causing some confusion in the last century over which were the original arms.
