German | blazon wanted |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted on December 11, 2000.
Bartshausen had no historical arms or seals, so the village council decided to design new arms.
The initial initiative dated from 1989, but it took until 2000 before the above arms were finally adopted. The tower symbolises the Bartshäuser Turm (tower of Bartshausen), which stood on the border between the Kingdom of Hannover and the Duchy of Braunschweig. The tower was first mentioned in 1439 and destroyed in 1895. The horseshoe symbolises the former smithy in the village on the main road through the region. The small hill in the base symbolises the villages 'Auf dem Berge' (a group of villages on the hills near Einbeck).
The colours are those of the Duchy Braunsweig.
