ALTENBERGE
State : Nordrhein-Westfalen
District (Kreis) : Steinfurt
German |
Auf goldenem Felde ein roter mit goldener Pflugschar belegter Dreiberg, auf dem eine grüne Linde steht. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted on June 10, 1938.
The arms show a red mountain, which is a canting element (Berge), and at the same time is a main geographical landmark in the municipality, as the town is built on some hills. On top of the mountain is a linden tree, symbol for the court that was held here in medieval times. The plough iron is a symbol of agriculture.
