LEEDER

State: Bayern
District (Kreis): Landsberg am Lech (until 1972 Kaufbeuren)
Incorporated into: 1972 Fuchstal

Wappen von Leeder/Arms (crest) of Leeder
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on 1957

The upper half of the arms shows a ball, which is derived from the arms of the Lords of Freyberg, who ruled the village and estate of Leeder in the 15th century. The lower half shows a rose on a mountain top, derived from the arms of the Rehlinger family, who acquired the estate in 1508.

The wavy bend is a canting symbol, the name is derived from Lede, a type of canal or artificial waterway. Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
