HOCHEMMINGEN
State: Baden-Württemberg
District (Kreis): Schwarzwald-Baar Kreis (until 1973 Donaueschingen)
Incorporated into: 1974 Bad Dürrheim
German | In durch eine goldene Leiste geteiltem Schild oben in Blau ein wachsender, rot bezungter goldener Löwe, unten in Blau ein goldenes Schräggitter. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were adopted in 1896.
The arms are based on a small seal from the second half of the 18th century. The seal showed the arms, with helmet and as a crest a man or soldier. The seal probably was used by a local governor or sheriff for the Princes of Fürstenberg, to which the village belonged, sealing on behalf of the council. It is not known to whom these arms belonged.
