TANGSTEDT

State : Schleswig-Holstein
District (Kreis) : Stormarn
Additions : 1970 Wilstedt, Wulksfelde
Amt : Amt Itzstedt

Wappen von Tangstedt (Stormarn)/Arms (crest) of Tangstedt (Stormarn)
Official blazon
German In Rot das silberne holsteinische Nesselblatt; diesem aufgelegt ein schwarzer Schild mit einem silbernen Balken, der mit drei roten Rosen mit goldenen Butzen und goldenen Kelchblättern belegt ist.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on August 4, 1936 and reconfirmed on June 7, 1974.

The arms show the nettle-leaf of the arms of Holstein, with the arms of the Counts of Holmer, who in the 18th and 19th century ruled Tangstedt. The three roses also symbolise the three former municipalities.
