Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on April 1, 2008.

The three battlements in the shield head refer to three distinctive large houses that were important on the Piescheider Höhe for centuries.

The green indicates agriculture and forestry, which were both key elements in the development of the village.

The red and silver are taken from the arms of the County of Vianden, to which the area historically belonged. The silver and black refer to Neuerburg. In the centre a landmark is placed. It stands on the way to Neuerburg and bears the inscription HENERIKUS ROPPES VON PLASCHET 1762.
