Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted April 27, 1949.

Biberbach was a possession of the Lords of Pappenheim until 1514, and of the Fugger family thereafter. The arms were granted on March 13, 1836 when the village became a town (Markt) by King Ludwig I of Bayern.

The lower part of the arms are canting; a beaver (Biber) and a brook (Bach). The upper part shows the local church, built between 1684 and 1694. The original arms showed a golden beaver on a silver field, but this non-heraldic combination was replaced by the present colours in 1949.
