Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on October 17, 1957.
The village developed around a convent founded in 1000 by Emperor Otto III. It later formed a separate freedom and estate under the Lords of Oedingen. The crosier refers to the convent as well as to the patron saint of the local church, Saint Burkhard, bishop of Würzburg from 742-754.
The two roses are taken from the arms of the Lords of Oedingen.
