'''KÖPENICK'''
===Origin/meaning===
The arms are based on the oldest known seal of the town, dating from 1350. The seal showed the combination of fish and key, but also a bend with small crosses. The bend was removed in the seals since the 17th century. The key is the symbol of St. Peter, the local patron saint. The fish are a symbol for the former importance of fishing in the lakes and rivers near the town, but also St. Peter is the patron saint of fishermen.
