The candles refer to the fact that already in 1219 the village, like several others in the area, were to deliver wax for the candles in the cathedral of Speyer. This duty lasted for several centuries. The grapes indicate the importance of viticulture. The black and gold colours are those of the Pfalz, as in 1463 the village became a possession of the Counts of Pfalz-Bayern. Silver and blue are also the colours of Bayern.

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on December 22, 1982.

The arms show the tower of the town hall, a landmark of the village. The colours are those of the Counts of Leiningen, lords of the village until 1463.
