The eagle with female face (harpy) is taken from the arms of the Von Merlau and Von Felda families, who ruled the village for many years. The small shield shows a hammer and some nails, as historically a large part of the population was employed as nail-maker. It was the main economic activity in Gross-Felda in the 19<sup>th</sup> century.
