Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1905.

The pine tree is derived from the historical arms of the County Hauenstein, to which the village belonged. The base of the shield shows a small shield with the Austrian arms. The village was first mentioned in 1315 as a possession of the Dukes of Austria.
