PARKSTEIN

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Neustadt an der Waldnaab
Additions : 1946 Oed; 1972 Schwand (partly); 1978 kHammerles

Wappen von Parkstein/Arms (crest) of Parkstein
Official blazon
German In Rot auf ansteigendem grünem Dreiberg ein springender schwarzer Eber.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on January 8, 1435 by Margrave Friedrich of Brandenburg and Count Johann of the Pfalz, who together ruled the town. All later seals and images thus show these arms, of which the meaning is not clear. As a black boar is against the heraldic rule of tincture, the boar is often shown in natural colours.

Wappen von Parkstein/Coat of arms (crest) of Parkstein

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
