Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 2019.
The division line refers to the geographical conditions, which is a hilly landscape. The three points also refer to the three villages in the municipality.
The lion is taken from the arms of the Counts of Sayn, and is also part of the arms of the Verbandsgemeinde and District. The water-mill wheel refers to the Rimbacher Mühle.
The three wavy bars refer to the three streams in the municipality, the Marenbach, Rimbach and Scharfenbach. The fourth quarter refers to the agricultural character of the municipality. The three bound ears refer again to the three municipalities that merged in 1969.
The colours and elements also refer to the former territories to which the area historically belonged; the lion and red/gold to the Counties of Sayn and Sayn-Hachenburg; the blue and gold to the County Nassau. The silver and black refer to Prussia and green and silver to the Prussian Rhein Province.
