BORKHEIDE

State:Brandenburg
District (Kreis):Potsdam-Mittelmark

Wappen von Borkheide/Arms (crest) of Borkheide
Official blazon
German In Grün ein schräglinker silberner Propeller, begleitet oben von einem goldenen Posthorn und unten von zwei goldenen Pilzen.
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were officially granted on October 12, 2000.

The arms show a airplane propellor, which symbolises one of the oldest aircraft industries in Germany in the town, operational from 1910-1914. The fist flying school was also established here. The horn refers to the fist postal flight in Germany, which started in the municipality in 1912.

The green colour and the mushroom refer to the -heide (heath, moors) part of the name.
