Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on July 21, 2005.
The arms refer with the four quarters to the Pronsfeld Estate, to which the area historically belonged, and which was ruled by four rulers. It also refers to the village of Hargarten as well as to Gesotz, Sonnenhof and Geweberwald.
The red and silver refer to the State of Trier and the Abbey of Prüm. Silver and blue are the colours of Luxembourg. The wheel and flax flower refer to the historically important flax cultivation and textile production. The acorn refers to the forests and the wheatear to agriculture.
