Dirlewang was already mentioned as a town in 1467, but the oldest seal is known only since 1725. The seal showed the arms, which were granted on September 15, 1725 by Prince Max Emmanuel of Pfalz-Bayern. The town was a border fortress, which explains the use of a fortified gate as arms. The lower part of the towers shows the design based on the arms of Bayern and has been used since 1835. | Dirlewang was already mentioned as a town in 1467, but the oldest seal is known only since 1725. Origin/meaning
