Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1959, but are based on a seal dating from 1622. The town was situated in the middle of the Dreieich (three-oaks) forest, which was an Imperial possession. The horizontal stick is a local symbol to distinguish the arms from other arms in the area (such as Egelsbach). The colours were not officially determined until 1959 and many different combinations occur.
