BIRKENWERDER
State : Brandenburg
District (Kreis) : Oberhavel
German | In Silber mit blauem Wellenschildfuß eine aus einem goldenen Dreiberg wachsende naturfarbene Birke. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted in 1937 and again on June 21, 1994.
The arms are canting, the name means a birch (Birke) on an island (werder), thus a village developed on an island with birches. The wavy base represents the Briese river.
