The arms were granted on August 18, 1937.

The cross is the cross of St. Andrew, patron saint of the village. St. Andrew already appeared on the early 17<sup>th</sup> century seal of the village. The colours are derived from the colours of the Wittelsbach, to which the village belonged as part of the Pfalz since the 13<sup>th</sup> century.
