BLANKENBURG (BRL)

State:Niedersachsen
Incorporated into: 1977 Goslar

Wappen von Blankenburg (kreis)/Arms (crest) of Blankenburg (kreis)
Official blazon
German blazon wanted
English blazon wanted

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on June 25, 1956.

The hills in the lower part of the arms indicate the position near the Harz mountains. The deer antler is taken from the arms of the Counts of Regenstein-Blankenburg, who were one of the most influential families in the area for many centuries since the 12th century.

Literature: Stadler, 1964-1971, 8 volumes.
