District (Kreis): Limburg-Weilburg (until 1973 Limburg)
Additions: 1939 Faulbach, Niederhadamar; 1971 Niederweyer, Niederzeuzheim, Oberweyer, Oberzeuzheim, Steinbach
German | In Blau zwei gekreuzte silberne Schwerter mit goldenem Griff und goldener Parierstange begleitet von vier schwebenden silbernen Balkenkreuzen. |
English | blazon wanted |
Origin/meaning
The arms were granted in 1907 and are based on the seal of Oberhadamar, which dates from the 15th century. Instead of two swords, the seal showed two sceptres. From 1570 these were replaced by short swords. The origin and meaning of the arms is not known.
