Origin/meaning
The arms were proposed by the State Archives in 1895 and adopted by the municipality in the same year.
The lion with the ax is taken from the arms of the Lords of Zimmern, who ruled the village as vassals of the Counts (later Princes) of Fürstenberg. The eagle is taken from the Fürstenberg arms.
