The oldest known seal of the village dates from 1752 and shows an oval shield with the letters WB and a wavy bar. The letters are the initials of the village, the wavy bar a canting element (Bach=stream). A later 19<sup>th</sup> century seal shows a similar compposition. In 1900 the State Archives proposed the above arms, which are based on the old seals.
