The council first started to think of using its own arms in 1955. As there was no agreement on any of the designs, it took until 1963 until the above arms were finally approved. The tower in the arms is the former guard tower in the village. The base shows the green fields with the Rehbach brook. The wheatear symbolises the importance of agriculture. The blueberry branch symbolises that there are many blueberries in the nearby forests, which used to be sold on the local markets by the villagers. Hence the village was nicknamed Heidelbeerdorf (village of blueberries).

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted on March 16, 1964.
