The arms were officially granted on July 11, 1984.


The arms symbolise with a sheep stable the longtime importance of sheep herding on the heather and moors in the area. The lower half shows a typical knife used to cut the heather. The heather was used as roofing material as well as for the animals and many other uses.


The hill in the base symbolises the local hilly landscape.

The arms were officially granted on July 11, 1984.
