The arms show the banner of the Counts of Lippe-Schwalenberg. From 1613-1709 Brake was the seat of the Counts of Lippe-Schwalenberg.
The arms show the banner of the Counts of Lippe-Schwalenberg. From 1613-1709 Brake was the seat of the Counts of Lippe-Schwalenberg. Before 1955 the municipality simply used the arms of the [[State of Lippe]], a red rose in silver.
