Origin/meaning
The arms were proposed by the State Archives in 1900 and adopted in 1901.
The bend is taken from the arms of the medieval Lords von Emmingen. The star is taken from the arms of the Lords of Hewen, as in the 15th century the village belonged to the Hewen estate.
The 19th century seal of the village only showed some agricultural tools.
