The arms were officially granted on February 17, 1965.

The arms combine elements of the arms of two noble families that played a major role in the local history. The lion is taken from the arms of the Lords Von Offenheim, the small shield shows the arms of the Lords Von Seibersdorf. The village developed around the castle of the latter family in the 14th century and in 1544 became a possession of the Lords Von Offenheim.
