GÖDNITZ
State : Sachsen-Anhalt
District (Kreis) : Anhalt-Bitterfeld (until 2007 Anhalt-Zerbst)
Verwaltungsgemeinschaft : Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Elbe-Ehle-Nuthe
Incorporated into : 2010 Zerbst
Official blazon
(de) Geviert von Blau und Silber; Feld 1 und 4: ein goldener Angelhaken, Feld 2 und 3: eine schrägrechte rote Pflugschar.
Origin/meaning
The arms were officially granted on August 17, 1995.
The arms show two fish-hooks for the former importance of fisheries in the local lakes. The plough iron refers to the agricultural character of the municipality. The colours are those of the Lingau County, to which the village historically belonged.
