Selected collector's items from Germany:

WALLENFELS

State : Bayern
District (Kreis) : Kronach
Additions : 1974 Geuser, Neuengrün, Schnaid, Wolfersgrün

Wappen von Wallenfels

Official blazon

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted by Emperor Charles V on March 24, 1541 and show the lion of Bamberg and a canting part (Wallenfels or forrest-rock). The village was a possession of the State of Bamberg.

The arms have basically never changed since. In the 17th century the Bamberg arms were sometimes depicted mirrored, causing some confusion in the last century over which were the original arms.

Also the arms were often shown with the trees free, i.e. without the small mountains, as shown by Hupp in the 1920s:

Wappen von Wallenfels

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
