Origin/meaning
The arms were designed and granted in 1955. The oak in the upper half symbolises that the area histrocially belonged to the Dreieich Imperial Forest (Dreieich means three=oaks). The handbag in the lower half is a symbol for the leather industry in the town. The red and golden colours are the colours of the Counts of Hanau, who rule dthe city from 1371-1425.
