Wappen von Aidenbach

Official blazon

(de) In Blau ein silberner Schrägbach, beheftet mit einem gebogenen Doppelhaken.

Origin/meaning

The arms were granted in 1811, but seemed to date from the 18th century. When the arms were granted the local council could not explain the hook-like figure. It most likely was an old village sign. The wavy bend is a canting element (Bach=stream). In the 19th century the arms were often shown wrongly, with for example a straight bend or in different colours.

Siegel von Aidenbach

The arms on a municipal stamp (1892)
Wappen von Aidenbach

The arms by Hupp in the Kaffee Hag albums +/- 1925
